The coach of team India, Ravi Shastri said that they pleaded for naming 16-man squad for the world cup but the ICC norms are strict about the count. Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and West Indies are the crucial squads qualified to participate in this tournament. Here is the squad analysis of five teams that includes Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, and India for the upcoming world cup.

All-rounders-Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis
Wicket Keeper-Alex Carey
Bowlers: Nathan Coulter Niel, Pat Cummins, Jason Behrendorff, Jhye Richardson, Adam Zampa, Nathan Lyon
Australian cricket board announced 15-man squad for the upcoming world cup which includes David Warner and Steven Smith. The team wants to defend the title at any cost. Their performance in England will be great if they are strong enough to encounter spin bowling and cope up with flatter pitches. David Warner and Steven Smith are performing exceptionally. David Warner is the orange cap contender in IPL 2019 and Steven Smith scored some crucial runs for Rajasthan Royals.
The top order gets stronger with the inclusion of David Warner and Usman Khwaja seems in good form by 655 runs from 10 recent innings. David Warner will be the crucial opener and Usman Khwaja will bat at No.3 and Steven Smith might bat at No.4. Peter Handscomb is another pivotal batsman in the squad. Shaun Marsh is another specialist batsman for the squad. Aaron Finch, David Smith, Mitchell Starc, and Glenn Maxwell are the players who played for Australia in world cup 2015.
Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis are the batting all-rounders for the squad and Pat Cummins, Jason Behrendorrf, and Nathan Coulter Niel is crucial bowlers for the team. Mitchell Marsh is facing injury woes which paved a way for the inclusion of Peter Handscomb.
Josh Hazelwood and Nathan Lyon are included into the team as back up bowlers. Hazelwood lost his place as a specialist bowler due to injury woes. Mitchell Marsh will be a part of Australia –A squad and his performance in the series against Pakistan will define his position in the world cup squad. Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Mathew Hade, and Travis Head are considered as standby players.
Though the team is defending champions, with tough competition, fans expect them to reach the semi-final at the least. They are fighting hard to rejuvenate and preserve the title and bag it for the sixth time.
Aaron Finch(captain), Alex Carey(wicket-keeper), Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter Niel, Peter Handscomb, Adam Zampa, Nathan Lyon, Usman Khwaja, Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Steven Smith, Jhye Richardson, and Pat Cummins.
The team is yet to be announced for this years ICC World Cup’s debutant.
Bangladesh seems the tough contender this time that might make the way for the playoffs. Their strong contenders are West Indies, South Africa,
Batsmen-Mustafizur Rahim, Mushfiqur Rahman, Mahmudullah, Liton Das, Tamim Iqbal, and Imran Khayes
All-rounders- Shakib Al Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain
Bowlers: Mashrafe, Mehdi Hasan, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahim, Abu Zayed
Bangladesh is doing consistently since a couple of years and seems a strong contestant in this season. Shakib Al Hasan shoulders the responsibility of vice-captaincy as well as a bowling all-rounder. Mustafizur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, and Tamim Iqbal are the experienced players for the side from 2015 world cup. Tamim Iqbal might open the game and Liton Das plays the role of the wicket-keeper batsman.
The drawback for the team is that most of the crucial players sustained injuries but the squad consists of a majority of experienced players. Shakib Al Hasan suffered a finger injury before the series in India and Mustafizur Rahim is nursing an ankle injury and might be back into the team before the world cup.
Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman might be used as finishers or backup batsman for the side in this series. Bangladesh needs to play series with Ireland and West Indies before the world cup, which helps as a warm-up before the world cup season.
Mushfiqur Rahim has the experience of wicket-keeping and can serve as the fiery batsman when the team needs the most. Mashrafe is the captain for the side due to the injury woes and poor form of Shakib Al Hasan.
Shakib Al Hasan(vice-captain), Mehdi Hasan, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mashrafe Mortaza(captain), Mustafizur Rahim, Mushfiqur Rahim(wicket-keeper), Robel Hussain, Mohammed Saifuddin, Abu Zayed, Sabbir Rahman, and Mosaddek Hussain.
Indian team comes with 15-men which includes 3 specialist batsmen, 2 keeper-batsmen, 2 batting all-rounders, 2 bowling all-rounders, and 3 pacers and 3 spinners.
Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzwendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav(spinner-all-rounder), Ravindra Jadeja(spinner-all-rounder), Hardik Pandya(pacer-all-rounder), Vijay Shankar(pacer-all-rounder)
Wicketkeeper-batsmen: MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik
Indian squad seems one of the experienced squads in the world cup and expects to reach the finale and clinch the title this year. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the part of the squad during 2015 world cup.
Though Rohit Sharma is fighting poor form, he is leading Mumbai Indians in an impressive manner and Shikhar Dhawan made a comeback performance for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019. The selectors voted for experience in choosing MS Dhoni over Rishabh Pant but at last Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant are selected as stand by players after a few frowns by the experts.
However, the team needs to answer middle order woes and find consistent finishers to encounter the flatter tracks at England.
Virat KohliI(captain), Rohit Sharma, shikhar Dhawan, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzwendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
New Zealand is one of the consistent teams which did not lift the world cup title yet. The team did not come up with many expectations this year as they did in the previous world cup season. The team expects to reach finale this year after fighting hard and many feel that they finish at top 4. The way they encounter the wrist spinners is the biggest question for the selectors to make a final squad and come back with good results.
Batsmen: Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, and Henry Nicholls
All-rounders: Colin De Grandhomme, Jimmy Neesham, and Mitchell Santner
Bowlers: Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Colin Munro, and Ish Sodhi
The team led by Kane Williamson is the tough thing to face since the team consists of three quality all-rounders. The team consists of experienced players like Mitchell Santner, Kane Williamson, and Ross Taylor and expects to give a tough fight for the opponents. Kane Williamson is nursing an injury currently and wants to bounce back till the world cup season. He is the official captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2019. The team needs a quality spinner like Yuzwendra Chahal for India and Adam Zampa for Australia.
Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Colin De Grandhomme, Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Tom Blundell, Tom Lathom, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee.
England hosts this world cup and ranks no.1 in ODIs in ICC ratings. It faces strong competition with New Zealand in this season. The team is equipped with many quality batsmen like Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan, and Joe Root. The team includes an arsenal of quality players to stand as strong contenders and clinch the title since England is one of the teams that never lifted the world cup.
Batsmen: Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler
All-rounders: Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, and David Willey
Bowlers: Liam Plunkett, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, and Adil Rashid
England is equipped with seven specialist bowlers and three quality all-rounders. The lack of quality pacer is the biggest flaw for the team since Sam Curran lacks the experience of playing for the world cup. Though Mark Wood is expected to fill the vacuum for a quality pacer, he is fighting poor form and injury woes. England is said to have seven expert bowlers for the side but the irony is the team lacks men with X-factor when it comes to bowling expect the all-rounders, Ben Stokes, and Moeen Ali. Ben Stokes did not perform well according to the expectations in the recent series and wants to bounce back to regain the lost magic in his performance.
Jos Buttler and Jason Roy might open the game and Eoin Morgan and Joe Root might play in the 3 and 4 places respectively. Overdependency on the top order is the biggest flaw of the team. In addition, the team excluded Jofra Archer who is one of the quality pacers from the 15-man squad. Jofra Archer is playing for Rajasthan Royals in the current season.
Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Tom Curran, Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Denly, Adil Rashid, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Jason Roy, Joe Root, and Mark Wood.
Since 23rd April is the last date for declaring the world cup squads, South Africa might announce the squad by 19th April and Afganistan might announce the squad within a couple of days.
Pakistan announced 15-man squad for the upcoming world cup. They need to face England in an ODI series before the world cup and need to play some county cricket. This experience works as a warm-up for the squad before the world cup. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Haris Sohail are the only players who had the experience of playing for world cup 2015. Mohammed Hafeez cleared all fitness issues and Imad Wasim was given time to clear all the fitness tests.
Mohammed Hasnain, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, and Babar Zaman are playing their first world cup and Shoaib Malik might play his last world cup in this season. The team included experienced and young players in equal portions and all the members are playing consistently for two years.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is the only wicket-keeper for the squad and Mohammed Rizwan was out of the squad due to injury woes. He did impressive with two centuries in the series against Australia. Missing out Rizwan is a huge blow for the squad in the crucial time. The team lacks an arrogant batsman to support Fakar Zaman. Though the team includes the likes of Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz, and Imam, there is a scarcity for hard hitters unlike in the earlier seasons.
Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Hasan Ali are crucial pacers for the squad and Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan are the spin options. Shoaib Malik is the only experience all-rounder for the squad. Mohammed Amir was excluded from the squad due to poor performance in the Asia cup though he has an economy rate of around 4.58. Fitness issues and injury woes are the biggest problems for Pakistan. Though there are many negative statements about India playing Pakistan in this tournament, the decision of ICC will be inevitable to conduct the match.
Pakistan is looking forward to making a way for semi-finals despite all the odds.

The experts expect this team to finish at playoffs at least. Karunaratne, Lakmal, Thisara Perera, Jeevan Mendis, Kusal Perera, Lasith Malinga, and Thiramanne are the only players who had the experience of playing for the previous world cup.
