The title winners of 2017 Mumbai Indians is about to host their game against the Chennai Super Kings, the inaugural match of the edition 2018. Mumbai is about to stage the final match of IPL  2018 in the Wankhede stadium.

chennai-mumbai-indianThe first doubleheader match will be on 8th April. One will be between the Delhi DareDevils and Kings Xi Punjab at Delhi and the other match will be held at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The current edition of IPL seems to be a startling combat by the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals after the relaxation from two-year ban due to spot-fixing and betting allegations.

Rajasthan Royals will play their first game against SunRisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad on 9th April and their second encounter will be against Delhi DareDevils at their home ground,  Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

These favorite teams of the season except Kings Eleven Punjab are scheduled to play seven of their matches at their native cities. The Punjab franchise will play three of their home games at Indore and they encounter Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi DareDevils respectively and they play four other home games at Mohali.

The Wankhede Stadium is about to host the first qualifier and one of the eliminators in addition to the inaugural and final matches of IPL 2018. The matches scheduled to be played on May 22nd and May 25th, the second qualifier and the eliminator of the season. The venues for these games are yet to be announced.

There were predictions about the change of timings of the IPL edition 2018 but the timings for all the matches are scheduled earlier. So, these speculations can be kept aside. On the other hand, the Maharashtra cricket association reportedly requested the IPL management to provide a chance to conduct the play-off matches in Pune, following the unwritten convention of playing second qualifier and eliminator in the home ground of defending champions. The association tried to cement their request by reminding about this and on the grounds that Pune Super Giants franchise is out of competition for the current season.
