Kolkata Knight Riders are about to select the captain. Gautam Gambhir went back to his home team Delhi DareDevils after playing for KKR for seven consequent IPL editions. Gambhir led the KKR towards two maiden titles earlier.

Chris Lynn KKRThe ultimate choice of the franchise for the Captaincy is Chris Lyn, obviously. One of the coaching squad and head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Jacques Kallis gave such gestures earlier, speaking to the media during the Ice cricket tournament in Switzerland.

Sources report that Lynn is reluctant about the offer but there are no signs of his rejection to lead the team yet. He was sold out for Rs.9.6 crore to the Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2018. In the previous edition of IPL, Chris Lynn scored 295 runs from 7 matches with a half-century at a strike rate of 181. In 2017, he was out of the rest of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

Lynn led the Australia ‘A’ team earlier against India and England and managed to win one match out of three matches. Lynn stood as the expensive Australian cricketer for the IPL 2018 auction.

Lynn did great in the Big Bash League premier for 2017-18. He played for Brisbane Heats in only five games but scored 148 runs out of them the best score being 63 not out.

Lynn expressed his enthusiasm to lead the team in his talk to the media. Lynn said, “I’d love to [lead]. I’d jump at the opportunity. We’ve got a really good group at Kolkata. The coaching staff, Simon Katich, Jacques Kallis, Heath Streak … I can relate (easily to) them. But there are a couple of boys that have been in the IPL for 10 years so you can’t ignore their experience, especially in their own backyard. I’m still learning the game over there but if given the nod then I’d jump at the chance.”
