For Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans it is a real treat to see Virat Kohli posing from the hotel balcony, but the fans went berserk when they saw the latest video on the official Instagram page of RCB.
The video shows two black Mercedes cars pulled up in front of the Dubai hotel where is the team is staying and AB de Villiers, Dale Steyn and Chris Morris come out to join the rest of the team.
In the caption of the 95-second video, it reads:
“The Proteas arrive . And here it is RCB fans, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! @abdevilliers17, @dalesteyn and @tip-morris have joined the team in Dubai!”
Upon entering the hotel, AB de Villiers was quoted saying, “I am very excited, very happy to be here. The travelling was a bit different to normal, but we made it here, I am with my South African friends, we are happy to be back in the RCB family.”
The players were tested with an infrared thermometer as they enter into the hotel lobby. As per the COVID-19 protocol laid down by the BCCI, all players and support staff will have to be in isolation for six days and undergo three Covid-19 tests before they are allowed to join in the bio-secure bubbles of their teams. Everyone will undergo a Covid-19 test every fifth day thereon.
“I am looking forward to settle, pack the bags out, get a feel for what we are in for this year. I am looking forward to get to know everyone, all the new players, there is a whole new feel in the side. So very excited,” AB de Villiers concluded.
AB de Villiers has been part of the RCB squad since 2011 and it’s a long term association. Morris was picked by the team in December last year for a whopping INR 10 crore. On the other hand, for speedster Dale Steyn it is a homecoming as he was part of the squad from 2008 to 2010.
