To our surprise, in the current IPL edition, most of the star players went unsold. These players make excellent outcome when selected as replacements. Since years, the players who entered as substitutes did a splendid performance in the previous editions. Chris Gayle is one of such players.
A player can be brought into the original squad as a replacement in consequences like injury, withdrawal etc adhering to the rules of the franchise.
- Hashim Amla
Hashim Amla stood as one of the unsold star players this edition. He is an outstanding player in the previous edition. He scored 420 runs at an average of 60 with a strike rate of 145. He will be a good weapon for any team as he is a very good spinner.
- Thisara Perera
This Sri Lankan player did great in the ODI triangular series. He played for Pune Supergiants, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Kings XI Punjab and SunRisers Hyderabad. Perera did a memorable performance in a triangular series of one-dayers played by Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Bangladesh. This player will be a merit for any team if taken into the squad.
- Joe Root
He is the Test Captain for England and did great in the T20s as well. He can be good at IPL, molded by Gautam Gambhir. He is a solid batsman that can take the stand for the rest of the line-up. He is a good fielder as well as a part-time leg-spinner. He can stand as an asset for any team.
- Unmukt Chand
This former Under19 captain will be good at limited overs format. He did well at Vijay Hazare trophy with 316 runs. He has many qualities in common with Indian Skipper Virat Kohl ii tackling critical situations and playing arrogant in the T20s. He can be added as a replacement for any of the IPL teams to prove himself as he had a fantastic domestic cricket career.
- Mitchell Mc Clenaghan
Most of the experts were startled when they heard that this player was left unsold in the current IPL edition. Though he did not do well in the Big Bash League earlier, he has a good IPL record. He represented Mumbai Indians in many seasons. This Australian pacer was known for bowling cutters at variant spaces and was an occasional hitter at the tail-end.
