IPL 2018 Dates Announced Along with New Timing for the Matches

IPL 2018, which will be the 11th edition of Indian Premier League will start from 6th April 2018. The first Match will be played next day after the opening ceremony on 7th April in Mumbai. Last Match (Final of IPL Season 11) will also be played in Mumbai only on 27th May. IPL Commissioner Rajiv Shukla shared this news with the Media on 22nd January in Mumbai.

Apart from the announcement of dates of IPL 2018, there is a slight change in the match timings as well, unlike other season afternoon match won’t start at 4PM but it will start at 5.30 PM & evening match will have an early start, now the evening match will start at 7 PM, this was a request from Broadcaster (Star Sports) which was accepted by IPL council.  This may be good to counter due factor as well for the evening matches.

Rajiv Shukla also cleared doubts about Kings XI Punjab Home Ground, Mohali will host 4 home matches for KXIP whereas Indore will host 3 Home matches. Home Ground for Rajasthan Royals is still not finalized due to pending Decision in Rajasthan High Court. It will be interesting to see when the hearing is done on 24th January.

The full schedule of IPL 2018 is yet to be announced, which is likely to be declared around the time of IPL 2018 Auction Dates which are 27th & 28th October in Bangaluru.
