Chris Lynn is the Australian player to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2018. He injured himself in the tri-national series against New Zealand and Bangladesh. He can be considered as the perfect replacement for Chris Lynn. He is known as the match-winner at the tough times. Joe Root scored 4408 runs off 106 ODIs. He stood next to Virat Kohli in limited over rankings. He led the England team for some time.

Shaun Marsh did his debut in IPL 2008. He scored 616 runs off 11 matches in that edition. He scored 2477 runs in 71 IPL matches with a century and two fifties. He did not get a chance to perform well in Kings XI Punjab due to the entry of Maxwell into the team. He is a consistent player in NO.3.
