English all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss out the Lords Test against India to be held on August 9th, 2018. He has to answer the trial in the Bristol Crown court regarding the charges of Affray.Stokes responded to the hearing yesterday through a video link from New Zealand. He pleaded that he was not guilty along with two other men Ryan Hale and Ryan Ali. Ryan Hale and Ryan Ali attended the court in person. Stokes is playing for England for the series against New Zealand at present.
The proceedings of the trial last from five to seven days from August 6th. On this account, stokes may miss out the Lords Test against India to be commenced from August 9th.
The court case was on account of the allegations that a 27-year old man suffered injured eye-socket near a nightclub during the one-day series against West Indies in September last year.
Stokes missed out the Ashes tournament followed by ODI series and Trans-Tasman T20I series against Australia. He was back to play for the team in five ODI series. He contributed the team with both the bat and the ball.
Ben Stokes will resume to test-matches next week from the first test against New Zealand in Auckland. The second and final test match will be played at Christ church. He is about to play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018.
