Narine’s IPL Participating Fell In Doubt?

Sunil Narine, who is playing for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League was reported by the match officials. He was suspected of illegal bowling action. The board said that he can continue his cricketing career and bowl.

But, according to the ICC bowling action regulations, if a bowler is reported against by the officials, he will be suspended for the tournament.

Former Pakistani captain and coach for the Quetta Gladiators, Moin Khan raised issues over Narine’s bowling actions and expressed astonishment about the news that Narine did not get any reports regarding his bowling action by the officials till now. This was not the first time that his bowling action was suspected.

Narine was deprived of participation in the Champions League after reports against illegal bowling action in two consecutive matches.

He faced similar issues in the Indian Premier League 2015 and was out of the tournament due to allegations about illegal bowling action. But the tests reported that his elbow action was below 15 degrees admitted by the ICC rules of bowling action.

Officials of the PCB said that he will be allowed to play in the PSL but not permitted to bowl if he gets reports by the bowling action.

The officials concerned to the match will be sent to West Indies cricket board officials and should review the process followed by the West Indies Cricket board against illegal bowling action.

Narine’s PSL team, Lahore Qalandars are out of the playoffs of the tournament but will play their last league match on Friday. This West Indies spinner is the key player for the team and was proved successful in the tournament that began a few weeks ago.

In his career, Narine played six test-matches,48 T20Is, and 65 ODIs and is expected to play in the match against Peshawar Zalmi.
