He was back into the team after recovering from the injury for the Nidahas tournament but changed his decision later. He obeyed the advice of the doctors to rest for some more time after he went to Bangkok to undergo a therapy.
The 6th T20I is considered as the virtual semi-final as the winners of this match will play India in the final match on 18th March. Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are standing equally on the points table by registering just one victory each out of three games.
Shakib’s return will help out their team from shortcomings. He is considered as the match-winner for the team. The team scored 176 and 215 runs in the previous matches and the stand-in skipper Mahmudullah said that extra runs affected the chances of their win.

They were in a crunch situation due to the loss against India in the 4thT20I of the Nidahas tournament.
