Bangladesh Adds Shakib To The Squad For Nidahas T20I Series

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh was ruled out from Nidahas tournament earlier due to an injury. His surprise return to the team for the 6thT20I boosts up the confidence levels of the team. He is the main weapon for the team in the white-ball cricket.Shakib Al HasanEarlier this year, this all-rounder was down due to the finger injury in the tri-series on his home soil against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. He was back into the team after recovering from the injury for the Nidahas tournament but changed his decision later. He obeyed the advice of the doctors to rest for some more time after he went to Bangkok to undergo a therapy.

The 6th T20I is considered as the virtual semi-final as the winners of this match will play India in the final match on 18th March. Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are standing equally on the points table by registering just one victory each out of three games.

Shakib’s return will help out their team from shortcomings. He is considered as the match-winner for the team. The team scored 176 and 215 runs in the previous matches and the stand-in skipper Mahmudullah said that extra runs affected the chances of their win.

Shakib Al Hasan has an excellent strike rate and his economy rate was very miserly and was 6.8 out of 61 T20Is. His strike rate was 18.23. He missed out the test-series against Sri Lanka due to injury in his finger in the final match of tri-series against Sri Lanka. He was included in the team for Nidahas tournament earlier but adhering to the advice of the specialists, he stayed out of the series.

The hosts won the curtain raiser match against India but were down due to defeats against Bangladesh and India. On the other hand, the Bangladeshis lost their first match to India but managed to regain their vigor by their victory against Sri Lanka in the third T20I by chasing the fourth highest score in the T20Is.  They were in a crunch situation due to the loss against India in the 4thT20I of the Nidahas tournament.
