The Kings XI Punjab is about to encounter Delhi Daredevils at FerozShah Kotla on 8th April in their first match of the Indian Premium League. The dates of home games of KXIP were revised due to repair works in the Chandigarh airport.According to the changes in the schedule, the team will play their last four matches at Indore instead of Chandigarh. The acting president of CoA CK Khanna said a few things to the press regarding this issue.
“There were logistical difficulties that teams would have encountered had KXIP played their home games in Mohali in May. Therefore the IPL Governing Council has decided that the dates will be swapped and Indore will now host all their matches in May.” He added.
The KXIP is heading towards the 11th edition of IPL under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin. The team is high at the spirits with the return of Yuvraj Singh after eight years. The team was able to retain only Axar Patel through right to match clause.
The cause for the reschedule of venues is renovation works in the Chandigarh airport from 12th to 31st May.
The IPL governing council decided to conduct home games of the team at Mohali on April 15th,19th, and 23rd and four games will be played at Indore on May 4th,6th, 12th, and 14th.
