Speaking to press, Buttler said, Stokes will be more than ready to participate in the IPL. He added, “He is already back for England in New Zealand and is quite comfortable. He is a huge part of England. It’s great to have him back in the English side as he is one of the best players in the world.” He also expects some big games from Ben this season in IPL.

Also speaking on his collaboration with the young English player Jofra Archer, he said he is looking forward to playing with him. He has mostly played against Archer but this IPL season they both will be playing in Rajasthan team. “He is a player for the future. Big things are expected from him. His game is ideal for IPL. He bowls fast, is an amazing athlete and can hit bowlers out of the ground. It will be exciting to watch him play in India,” Buttler said.

For Rajasthan, Buttler is one of the star players who can open for the team and given his form at the moment, he can prove to be a valuable asset. Speaking on his role, he said, “My exact role will be decided by the team management, but in recent times I have been opening the batting and have quite enjoyed it. I am also used to batting in the middle order and have been playing the role of a finisher. I am quite comfortable with it. So, I am available for whatever role I am given.”

His role in RR will be decided by the veteran Shane Warne, Who Buttler looked up to while growing up. “He was the most famous cricketer back then and later I enjoyed listening to his commentary. He has an amazing cricketing brain,” he said.

Buttler also points towards the Karnataka off-break bowler Krishnappa Gautham, who was bagged by RR for INR 6.20 crores to deal with their lack of spinners. “Gautham is not too highly rated in India, but I have seen him at Mumbai Indians nets and have found him to be amazing.”

“I think he would be the man for Royals, Buttler said.”

Jos Buttler has played for Mumbai Indians for two IPL seasons. According to him he is comfortable with the Indian conditions and understands the format quite well.
