If Rajasthan Royals decide to pick an Indian as the captain then Ajinkya Rahane will be the first choice. The vice-captain of the Indian Test team, Rahane is a performer who has the proven record to perform in all the IPL seasons for whichever franchise he played.
Since 2012, Rahane has played in 91 IPL games from which he has fetched 2,789 runs. Such a marvelous performance makes him the first choice to replace Smith as the captain. Unless team looks for an international player to take up the responsibility, Rahane is the final choice.
